# Bishop Land

Can white win?

I don’t know, CAN HE

You can checkmate in 6 moves or stalemate in 1 move.

Yeah dude all white has to do is move the bishop to h3

Here the roles are reversed. White must work hard to salvage the draw. How? And don't complain it's an illegal position. I know!

Alright. Bishops.

Did you solve #5?

Yes, I eventually got a draw.

Right, eventually! You will find this a strange puzzle but it is excellent training for your puzzle solving skills. Always attempt to solve a puzzle by (a) thinking a long time (b) playing the moves without any mistakes. One mistake and you should rate your own performance as "not solved". It is an unfortunate thing that chess.com permits you to make endless corrections and then rewards you with the "solved" verdict.

i got checkmate....

@tacticspotter: Kudo's! That's an amazing solution I completely missed! I am very happy with that as it could be the seed of a much better puzzle! I will look into this.

Thanks a lot!

@ry-guy14: As you see here I am not perfect. It is amazing to find the hidden resources in such a seemingly boring diagram. I am always happy when I produce a correct puzzle. I'm even happier when a puzzle fails by a devious resource because it enables me to make a better puzzle! Of course I tested my puzzle but the chess.com engine didn't find the error for me. Tacticspotter did!

Yep! Looks like it's thinking : "Ah, custom position! Holiday!" and takes out the surfboard instead of the calculator

lol
