It looks like a lot of the positions being given are flawed.  One that nobody picked up on yet is xalways.  Ie. 1. Rd3 exd3 2. Qc8 de 3. Qb7 #.  Incidentally, I thought the idea of this post was to encourage daily puzzle submissions, not put them in here unchecked.  There is another forum for our own problems.  But dont be put off, this is a good way to learn.

But this is not the solution black can also play 1...e3 The solution is much more funny!

This actually came up in one of my games, with a slight alteration, because as it was, the black king had a chance to escape, but didn't see it.

This is my first puzzle, and I'm not the most experienced player, so if you find any inacuracies with it, let me know!

Sorry but after

I do not see it for you.

Yes you might be right but during the game from which this came I was more attracted to the idea of winning more material at the very least as well as setting up the immediate mate threat after 1. Bc6 of 2. Rb8#.

Thanks for commenting.

Well the caption does say white to move and mate.  Your method is not the quickest mate and is not even considered a forced mate.

Your goal is to get a draw.

Waredude
#17, there is a smothered mate in one. Why not do that?

Again I would recommend 2...Rh8+ followed by 3...Nd6 and I think black wins.

When I played this in a blitz game, I was running low on time and panicked.  I played Rd5+?? instead.

This variation could have occurred in a game I played last year. I greatly regret that I never got to play it...
