This is one of the worst things I've seen around here.
They need a moderator for this forum. Clearly, this idea of just letting people post their own 'puzzles' is not working.
I think that the community moderates itself fairly well in this respect. This thread's actually a good example.
Now, on the other hand, I believe that anyone who posts a puzzle without putting the solution in but still uses the puzzle board format should be immediately ejected from the site.

I have other problemist friends who won't go near this forum because so many of the problems are crap.
Moderation works for the Daily Puzzle; it could work here. Why should unsound problems even get a thread?
I can understand that. Maybe a community rating mechanism (at the thread, or at least the post level) could help here.
If I was running chess.com I wouldn't want to employ a bunch of moderators just to check whether posted puzzles were busted or not, but I would be interested in letting the community vote them down.

I was thinking of pre-screening (mod checks before the problem is posted) and you could probably get a volunteer to do it for cheap (like a free subscription).
But the voting would help, particularly if it was displayed right next to the thread titles in the forum's thread list, and also prominently next to the posted problem(s).

You know, thinking about this a little more, chess.com should simply revert puzzles that don't actually have any moves to basic diagrams automatically.
