Forced Mate in Ten

I find that I play live games FAR better than correspondence. My FICS rating is around 250 points higher than my Chess.com rating now. Anyway, this puzzle occured in a standard 15 minute match on FICS. While playing, I was faced with the decision on winning material or starting a strong attack, I chose the attack and it came through. I have every intention of posting the game, but for now here is the puzzle. Forced mate in 10! Can you find it?

That pawn isn't supposed to be on e7.

mm i got it first go somehow... apart from the 2nd one and a few wrong turns at the end. =D random rook sac ftw. but i didnt expect it to be right!!! and i dont think the "e" pawn should be there. Mistake? because otherwise the black bishop wouldnt have got out. that confused me for ages, becaeuse i was like *why didnt the pawn take the queen!* but yeh the "e" pawn shouldnt b there. nice mate.

Now that's a real satisfying mating attack!

You are very talented young chess player! But I think yours title misleading. Maybe Move and win are more suitable because on move 1... black king to C8. and after that no force move and mate in ten. Anyway White still in winning game, congratulations!

Nice puzzle there, but as has been pointed out not quite forced in 10 but you did need to include the rook sac to make it a challenge. Also for what it's worth, there is 1....Qd7 as well (mate should follow but in how many moves ?) My play style must be somehow opposite to yours, I find my correspondence rating always high above that of blitz games, too easy to blunder when I don't have enough time to think.

One rule I remember from Silman's The Amateur's Mind is that if you're more developed than your opponent and the king is still in the center, you do all you can to start an attack. So it was rather obvious to me to start an attack... nailed the first move and everything followed fairly well from there.

Good job in the game!
