From iPhone App Buckingham Palace

Keyif

I was playing a game on my iPhone called Buckingham Palace and in this mystery type game they had a puzzle. It is a rather easy one but thought I'd share it here. If you want to see the missing piece and just solve it then go HERE

Additions: When you place the piece it is not check, the piece you place cannot move, and then you still have to move a piece that is on the board before your placed the piece back on the board.

Not quite because black still has to move after placing the piece back on the board.

The missing piece is the knight on e1. Rh4#

That works too.

That doesn't work because it means the Wh. King has been sitting in check and it's Black's turn.

Yes but there is one more too.

Queen anywhere that isn't placing  white in check, and that can reach the c4 square in one move - c4#

daxelson

Queen on d1 or f1, Rh4#

Knight on e1 or e5, Rh4#

Keyif

ok Q on d1 Kf4, Rh4 Kg3 or Kg5

if Q on f1 Kd4, Rh4 Kc3 or Kc5

Your other response is correct.
