# Fun Mate in 3

• #1
I missed this in game but caught it later in the analysis. Black to move!

• #2

1... Nc6+ 2. Ka8 Qxa7 3. Bxa7 Rxa7#

• #3

nc6+, bxc6, qxb6+, ka8, qxa7# or rxa7#

• #4

The board is swapped the coordinates should be the opposite, anyway,

Qxg3 fxg3 Nf3+ Kh1 Rxh2#

• #5

If Nf3+ first then white can play Kh1 and it isn't a mate in 3 right?

No.  After 1.Nf3+ Kh1 then 2.Qxh2+ Bxh2 3.Rxh2#

• #7

ok,  I think that either way works then

If Nf3 can't white take with the pawn?

look at my solution. Yes the board is flipped but I made my moves based on the coordinates of what the board showed

• #10

Nf3 is double check because of the bishop on b6

• #11

the queen sac is cooler

• #12

but if Nf3+, white can play Qxf3, so I don't think it is mate in 3

• #13

Found it. 1. Qxa7+ Bxa7 2.Nc6+ Ka8 3. Rxa7#

Also, when inserting a chess position into the post, you can put on the checkmark "puzzle" and let us guess the moves.

@SilverByte, what if White plays 2...bxc6

• #15

what is wrong with my solution lol? I'm pretty sure it is the answer...
