# Mate in 14

position from one of my games .I had mate in 14 but I lost because I could not see it. Try and see if you can find it

You forgot to tick the "puzzle" checkbox under the "theme" tab when inserting the chess diagram. The solution is right next to the board

Hard to believe that was the fastest way to do that...

It was according to computer I cannot even find significance of some moves in that setup(b4 and qc5).

Sorry about that I have changed it to puzzle now.

25. Tb7+ Kc6 26. Ld5+ Kxd6 27. Tb6+ Tc6 28. Txc6+ Kd7 29. Dc5 f5 30. Txg6 Lf6 31. Dc6+Kd8 32. Dxa8+ Ke7 33. Db7+ Kd6 34. Txf5 b4 35. Dc6+ Ke736. Db7+ Ke8 37. Lc6+ Kf8 38. Dxg7#

Took me a while with few trial and errors. Most moves make some sense, except Qc5 I would've just taken the queen with rook and Txf5 seems super slow. I guess it works in the end by pinning the last defender. Last 4 or so moves would've been a better mate in 4 puzzle.

can u solve this puzzle check it out https://youtu.be/UIyGzFkyEcc

These are hard to see.  Of course, once the black queen comes off, the game is trivially won and most folks playing black would resign.

1 this was technically a mate in 15, 2. who cares it was resignable after move 27 ish , if not 25. 3.Nobody would take the time to calculate mate after being up something like 2 rooks and a queen. To calculate all that in your head must be close to impossible or a big waste of time.

And perhaps you could change that "or" to an "and."   One of the more unfortunate aspects of the computer era:  countless trivial solutions which many seem to view as Holy Writ.

You do not need to see "mate in 14" to win this. There are too many simple wins for this to be a good puzzle.

NVM .. someone else already shows my alternate mate in 14

Quite hard had three incorrects
