I guess White just wanted to get it over with quickly, instead of dragging it out with 2.Qe5+ Bxe5 3.Rxh4 Rh2+ 4.Kg1 Rg8+ 5.Rg4 fxg4 6.Re1 gxh3+ 7.Kf1 Rh1+ 8.Ke2 Rxe1+ 9.Kxe1 h2 10.Kd2 h1Q 11.Ke2 Rg1 12.c4 Qe4+ 13.Kd2 Re1 14.c5 Qe2#.

An even better way to get it over with quickly is to resign.
