Being able to backstep their own pawns and promote on their own first rank would certainly encourage some to develop their pieces faster.

why inaccurate? 1. Ne7 does the same with the same concept and 3. ... Nf3 instead of 3. ... b1=Q is not influent. A puzzle does not have to stem from a real game. Nice here was to realize that the board was flipped.
