They are very close, but the best reason I can give you is that after some trades, a rook on the d file is better than one on the h file. Here is a puzzle for you, in the real game, after 26. Rdg1 Qf8 (not Qg8 which was played) what is whites move? and why?
I'll appreciate any comments about alternative/better moves.
