A tad chilly

Same temperature here today.  We started opening the windows around 5°C (~40°F) last week though.

It was damned near eighty here.  Very unsettling.

bunch of girl are you with the of warm weather huh.

Not for beertopians. We had 3 light dustings over about 10 days lately. It remains continued cool.

No real weather events this winter. No big rain or snow or cold or wind. Just mostly cool. Gotta break out of this.

We keep having hail, which is highly unusual for this place. At least four times in the last week or two including a little bit today.

I got a bellyfull of winter in Wyoming.

There's been no winter to speak of when I've been in MI, IL, IN, MO, OK, and KS.

Man, Kansas sucks regardless of season and weather.  It's gotta' be in the top three suckiest states in the Union.

Well, here I am, in my short, still sleeping with just a sheet and with the window open and when those three things change you know you will be getting warm. Tongue out

Current temperature is 74 F.  Yesterday's high was 73 F.  The normal high is 33 F.  If this 40 degree spike happens during the summer it'll be pushing 120 F here.  Cool

EDIT:  I just scanned up the page-- it was less than 2 weeks ago that it was (-19) F here.  That's quite a turn-around!

Oh, God!  Way to make a guy want to vomit, Cystem.  Ya' gotta' be kind of a masochist to even make that joke.

82 F here yesterday, and 81 the day before.  Before this, the earliest date a temperature of 80 or higher had ever been reached here was April 16, and there were only 2 days total of 80+ temps ever recorded earlier than May.

Pellston, which is 16 miles south of the northern tip of the lower Peninsula (and still about 125 miles farther north than Bigpoison) has had 5 straight days of 80+ temperatures.   Yesterday the high there was 85 F , which eclipsed their previous record high for that date by an incredible 32 degrees!  I have never seen a weather record anywhere that was smashed by such a huge amount.  The three preceding days set new records by amounts of 29, 26, and 23 degrees over the previous records.

That's amazing.

A few days ago I was reading an article about heat bursts, a weather phenomena I'd never heard of. Your weather didn't occur in a fast enough time frame to qualify, but it reminded me of the article.

Avatar of TheGrobe

They happen all the time here due to chinooks -- I've seen 40+ degree (Celcius) swings within 24 hours on the extreme.

Here's the culprit for our recent heat blast (by the way, today is rainy, and only up to 55 F, but that's still more than 20 degrees above normal).  You don't often see it kink that far to the south:

We have an inch of snow on the ground, making today the latest day of measurable snow recorded, by two weeks.

Good grief. Weird weather for beertopia.

An hour or so ago I was driving a little 8-mile loop (the farthest I can afford to drive just for kicks) after some errands to enjoy the rain, and on a rural road I passed a large squad of 15-20 wild turkeys jogging along just off the far shoulder.  I wonder how many weeks of turkey boot camp are devoted to training them to all bob their heads up and down together, perfectly synchronized, as they trot along?

They can be trained to attack, too:

Now you have me wanting to see her throw a real cat in with that turkey to see what would happen.

I was waiting for that too.
