In Roblox, you were supposed to “power imagination”… now they are encouraging developers to use AI to generate games.

Roblox will remove classic faces as they “do not express the user”… they want players to use “dynamic” faces so the face mimics what the user is expressing irl.

Not to mention this age verification stuff, they use crappy AI to estimate your age via a video selfie. They will place you in an “age group” depending on what (they think) your age is (based off your selfie). You can ONLY talk to players in your and in bordering “age groups”. HOWEVER, we have seen flaws in the AI, such as placing people in random age groups and the AI easily being tricked into placing people in higher age groups. The ONLY way to guarantee your age being correct is by showing your government ID to them.

If you don’t verify your age, you lose features to every chat feature, such as in game chat (or “in experience chat”), voice chat, etc.

There are thousands of players who protest by wearing Guest avatars and protesting the update in game. HOWEVER, we have seen these protesters getting BANNED for “discriminatory content”. The same thing was happening for people supporting Schlep during the Schlep drama.

Back to the “age groups”, this was originally made to stop kids from talking to adults, to prevent predators. This update actually benefits predators as, like we’ve seen before, the AI can get tricked. Or they can just purchase a pre-verified account. They can do their business and won’t get caught because the adults in higher age groups won’t see the chat. We’ve also seen kids using their parents’ face/ID to access higher “age groups”.
