If you find an opening strategy that you can work with regardless of how your opponent moves his/her pieces, keep using that opening as no 1 person plays the same way but if you are playing the same opening strategy against all whom you play you will not only find more angles while using your opening moves but you will also learn the error of your gameplay and also learn all possible moves an opponent is able to play, this will in turn refine your skill using that opening strategy.

Tip: i have 16 moves locked in for gameplay regardless of how my opponent moves my 1st 3 moves of that opening are the most crucial of the pattern I use so that at least then I am 16 moves ahead of what I'm doing during the middle and end game.
