Chess Dreams

.......well blow me down with a feather........no free diamond subscription? and to think I have been dreaming about this thread for two years.......flat out like a lizard drinking....blimey...oh well......... she'll be right mate

I'm still dreaming about no free diamond membership.........tossing and turning......even when I count emus and possums I still can't sleep. Surely you can pull some strings BlueEyedLady. Sigh....I'll just rub some goanna oil on my tummy and dream about some chess moves then..............

I once had a game with an unknown player. That game never got finished as I woke up. But what I still remember is that we had a tough game going on. To be honest I had not had a good move to make at middle order. However he did suggest me to play defensive game.

There has been a time or two that I have spent so much time on a move, durng a turn based game, that the position came up during a dream. It wasn't that one move solved everything in those positions that required me to spend a lot of time on. It was the complications that arise after the fact. Or I should say potentially could arise with accurate play. This has only happened once or twice! I don't recall discovering any kind of solution in my dream that I haven't already considered!

Even when i am awake. Stop playing for a couple of weeks it goes away.

Beware chess players. .... Oye Oye always believe in such dreams... Sometimes such a solution coming from a dream can provide a meaning to a single game or even a single position...

Curious Cat! I actually find this a very interesting topic. LOL It has been a long time since I had any dreams that were significant, but when I do work on math type problems for extended periods of time, I do dream "math". LOL

Cute gag video here...thx for posting. I have never dreamed chess. However there have been times in otb tournaments when a game went 7 or 8 hours that when i finished a chess piece would flash in my eyes, sort of like an after image. I have never heard of someone dreaming chess, but there are instances where mathematicians or physicists have dreamed an answer to a problem or something so  close it led them to the answer.

I do.  It happened after I watched "Game of your Life" and had just played in a tourny.  It was crazy, I faintly remember walking around on the chessboard and talking to the pieces.  I woke up panting btw.  Not at all a pleasnt dream.

I hate when that happens.

I dreamed already playing a game against a guy who wore black clothes and I could never watch his face ... it was a tournament in all epochs ... I got to see Alekhine, Capablanca and other past and along with GMs gift kasparov, Karpov ... Fisher noticed playing against Botvinnik ... another curiosity was that there was Carlsen in the tournament and at the time ... weird dream 1997...
