Yes, definitely check local laws. In most states, any long arm (rifle or shotgun) with the barrel under a certain length is illegal.  It may even be illegal to modify the barrel length, I'm not sure. Mr-Mudd is right, for in-home defense a tactical shotgun is the way to go. They have better stopping power than just about any other firearm at close range, don't miss as easily as a handgun, and don't go through walls and endanger your neighbors like a rifle. They also usually have a larger magazine than standard shotguns.

Uncle Peet,

Let me ask you this.

How do you feel about guns being used in school shootings, such as the one in Michigan earlier?

Rachel's Tears is a very good book to read for insight on Columbine

Do glue guns count?

Only if you have a holster.

Avatar of Bulliedofthesite

If you have a glue gun does that make it a stick up?

I cant decide whether to cringe at that pun or put it in the hall of fame

Avatar of Bulliedofthesite

Does he/she chase rubber bands?

Avatar of Gomer_Pyle

She chases just about anything. I've had her a year and a half and she's proving to be one of the oddest cats I've known. Refuses to be picked up and held, barely tolerates being petted, will not sit in a lap for any reason, yet hates to be separated from me. Fearless with other people, dogs, and the carpet cleaner yet jumps out of her skin at odd noises. The carpet cleaner causes her tail to poof up bigger than she is but she won't hide from it. Ignores the vacuum completely.
I keep telling her if she doesn't start showing some appreciation I'll dump her back on the rock in the river where I found her. She doesn't seem to care. Love her bunches, though.

Nice. My last cat was totally aloof and wanted nothing to do with anyone, including the hand that fed her.

My cats are old, they don't play no more. Aside from the younger one using ny hand as a chew toy.

My hands have been covered in scratches for a year now. She has learned not to bite or claw too hard but still draws blood daily. She loves the Christmas tree but doesn't climb it. She just lays under or next to it. There is one, and only one, ornament she doesn't like. She has rearranged the lights and decorations several times while getting it out of the tree. Strangely enough, the ornament is a guy in a kayak that was given to me by a kayaking partner a few years ago. I was looking for a kayak launch point when I found her. Maybe she hasn't quite forgiven me yet.
