I don't know anything about your gun laws in America but when I hear news about how every year somebody shoots there in school and similar things.. or when you I look at statistics about how many people die there killed by a gun compared to some other countries, I feel like that those laws or maybe their aplications are not much good.. just saying..

Start with a null hypothesis: it is not useful to make guns readily available to the general populace.
And since there is no good argument for guns, you just keep that hypothesis.
Gun nuts like to say it makes it possible to overthrow the government, but that's silly. First of all, historically that's never happened without the help (or at least inaction) from the military. Secondly this isn't medieval times. The US spends the better part of one trillion dollars on military equipment yearly. A bunch of morons with rifles wont do sh*t, and that's putting it mildly.
Gun nuts like to say guns makes you safer, but that's also silly. A gun as a reactionary tool is not useful. In day to day life the aggressor has the advantage. If you were armed with a gun, and all I had was a rock, I would win, because I'm not going to announce it's a fight to the death, I'd just walk up and kill you. Also in real life it's impossible to tell which shooters are the "bad guys" and which shooters are trying to help. Giving guns to a bunch of people will just get more people shot in the confusion.
But what about non violent situations? Well guns are tools for killing... there are no other useful situations. The sport of shooting is recreational, so as far as utility gets a zero. In contrast knives can be used for all sorts of things outside of killing.
Anyway, topics like these get locked. They don't like adults to talk about ideas in the forums. Better to start a topic where we challenge each other to count to 100 like all the kids do.
