Man-made pollution is a somewhat different issue.  And an important one.  If a cleaner environment is an important goal, then pressure should be brought to bear on the ChiComs.

Gore may or may not be a hypocrite but that has nothing to do with global warming.

wow! a very indicative piece of information and a peek into the mind set of enviromentalist wackos. they destroy a tree, which they so proclaim to want to protect, to further their political agenda. It truly points to the fact that the enviromental movement has been usurped and hijacked by more nefarious causes.

it doesn't matter what Al Gore or anyone else says; the fact that 7 or 7000 predictions about environmental disasters have failed to come true, does not have ANYTHING to do with the truth or falsehood of global warming predictions.

Many environmental predictions HAVE come true, others are coming true now, others have not even been created yet. 

Trying to protect the planet we live on is an honorable necessary endeavor. Trying to tear down those who to is an evil and unnecessary endeavor.

Can someone tell me a concrete downside those claimed 'alarmists' are supposed to cause?! Pushing energy efficiency, renevable energy sources..? Or maybe it's the totally horrible thought of having better milage on cars.. And please, skip the power/control/economic benefit and conspiracy things.

The downside: it would threaten those who want to keep right on rolling on what we have. 

It introduces unknowns; it is change, always threatening. No one has yet proven 100% that renewables can completely replace fossiil fuels (which nobody ever said they could); so we cannot even explore them. They are weak and stupid. They are for sissy alarmist environmentalist wackos like us. Renewables are like communists in the 50s - they must be rooted out and exterminated. 

The downside: Humvees might get more expensive, or (God forbid) be banned (which they should be). 

Laws might be passed mandating small increases in fuel economy, benefitting everyone except, maybe, the fuel industry.

Miniscule taxes may be added to gasoline prices, which are at historic lows anyway. 

NO. THIS IS CRAZY YOU WACKO ENVIRO FLAKES. WE CANNOT GET MORE EFFICIENT!! PETROCHEMICAL BEHEMOTHS HAVE RIGHTS TOO!!!!
