What episode? or was that photoshopped. :/

AndyClifton

"Specter of the Gun" naturally (with the Melkotians getting all touchy about invading their space).

Yes the episode with Star Trek at the OK Corral was a good one. I liked most of the Star Trek episodes but the budget for TV was a bit tight. Special effects got a lot better when they switched over to making the movies based on the first TV Series.

Sadly, the quality of the ST movies alternated between bad (directed by Shatner) & good (directed by anyone else).

I just watch Kelly's Heroes.  Its a real fun movie.Laughing. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Thanks for the recent posts.

A sad day in Hollywood today with the passing of Tony Scott, the younger brother of Oscar winner Riddely Scott. Tony Scott was also a Director and was probably best known for " Top Gun ".

I watched Grand Hotel over the weekend. I enjoyed it a lot, although I didn't find that Greta Garbo quite lived up to her "legendary performance" cred in the movie.

AndyClifton

Maybe that's why she wanted to be alone. Smile

Watched that thing at 3 am once (back when you still had to wait to see stuff on broadcast channels) drinking Absolut from the freezer.  A thoroughly marvelous experience, I must say.

Thanks for the updates. I must confess that I have yet to see " Grand Hotel ", some day I guess  lol.

AndyClifton

Aw c'mon cabby, bag it as soon as you can! (I've got it on VHS).  It snagged the O for best pic way back in '32, it's got Garbo, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, and not just one but two Barrymores...and best of all, Greta actually says "I want to be alone" in the middle of it! Laughing

The eye of the Needle (Yeah, based on the novel) *ing Donald Sutherland

AndyClifton

Hm, I haven't seen that one yet (criticker just told me I'd give it a 75).

shiva101

Spy novel based on WW II authored by British writer Ken Follet . Original title was Storm Island. Made into a Hollywood motion picture in 1981. Direction Richard Marquand.

Eye of the Needle is a Second World War movie with a  difference, because there are no battles between armies; but between individuals and consciences.

It is the story of a German secret agent and his ruthless determination to complete his mission. Physically, it seems that nobody can stop him, and everyone who tries is eliminated without a second thought. However, this is also the story of a brief and passionate love - a love which weakens his resolve momentarily. Suddenly there is someone he cares about; someone he cannot eliminate quite so easily.

Thank you, imdb. Wink

Thanks for the recent info.

I do remember a movie where Donald Southerland plays an evil German Spy. Donald also did a very good job playing an Irishman who was a German sympathizer in " The Eagle Has Landed " ( where the Germans try to kidnap Churchill ).

Michael Clarke Duncan passed away today, he had received an Oscar for his performance in " The Green Mile ".

Anyone else like Val Luton movies?
