I agree, partially. I don’t believe AI will be replacing art and music, but I don’t see why it shouldn’t eliminate some professions.
If a robot surgeon can execute a surgery better than a human one can, I don’t see why they shouldn’t be utilised for that procedure. They already are in some cases. Similarly, legal AI’s can reduce the costs and time associated with research. If, say, you can have a single AI do the job of fifty call centre employees, I don’t see why they shouldn’t be fired. AI’s are also being used in science, and are doing much good there, expanding the individual abilities of each researcher and perhaps even coordinating better.
And if robots shouldn’t take people’s jobs, what are they good for? If a power loom isn’t allowed to outcompete people with hand looms, it might as well be nonexistent. Cars used to be manufactured by people before the process was automated.
