No direct paid membership to minors

How about it? I am withholding a lengthy explanation and for good reason as it should be painstakingly obvious.

Now the solution(s):

Have a pot where people could donate and this site operates a lottery system of its own in conferring paid memberships.

To be included in the lottery, one may do nothing, ask for inclusion (possibly increasing the odds), or in the action of others, minors and adults alike, NOMINATE those for inclusion (possibly also increasing the odds).

Where the word "Gift" is, upon clicking, one of two web pages would be brought up, one for paying for the membership of another if the receiver is of the age of majority, and one for nomination if the receiver is of the age of minority.

On the home page, there could be an announcement of lucky winners, if so desired. In this way, those whom are putting money into a pot for such would know the money is actually going to where it is intended.

How would you possibly determine if someone's a minor or not? So far there's nothing in place that demands our age from us.

Even then, it will all up to the user's integrity to answer it honestly. That would be the crux of the matter in implementing this whole process, I believe.

Whatever is necessary in implementation. If there is something lacking currently, fix it.

Age verification has associated costs. As it stands, members are supposed to be 13 or older to create an account, otherwise a guardian is supposed to be involved.

Don't see anything like that ever happening, due to the associated costs and the fact most people wouldn't provide the necessary details, even if cost wasn't an issue.

A simple question for the age and this site could be free of legal issues. Well, I put forth what I did. I say no more.

there isn't a lot that chess.com can do to verify age short of demanding legal ID

You can lie about your age quite easily. On the internet, you can be whoever you make yourself be.

PawnPusher1536

there is punishment and little reward for being truthful for your age

think like a 7y/o

lie about your age -> get on a cool chess site with grown ups and get out of the terrible UI that is chess kid

be truthful about your age -> ???
