Unable to answer thread because the thread creator blocked me. FIX IT!!!!

Martin_Stahl

I'm sure staff does read many of the topics here but if you really want to get in front of staff eyes, what batgirl suggested is your best bet. Heck, make a forum, then link to it in the suggestion that way they can see how many other people might also like the idea (in addition to any other tickets they may get on the same thing).

Better there than here

 frankly, it's asinine.

By using the built-in "make a suggestion" button, the suggestion is put officially into the system and, at the least, can't be ignored.  Whether it's something that will be deemed actionable is for the team to decide, just as taking MY suggestion is up to the OP to decide.

Is there 'lets start a coup and make robbie the chess king of the internet' button? Nah seriously if I was world champion I would have a crown and sceptre made for the male and female world champions to be worn on state occasions.  I'd also have babes throwing flowers on the ground when I entered a tournament and a gong to announce my royal presence.

Bipolar_Chest isn't into free speech. not the kind of guy to have a conversation with about anything. Let him block, its all he has.

The answer is not to respond to threads started by known trolls. J Muckrami has blocked me and I feel much the better for it. It means I don't respond to his threads and so he no longer sends me insulting, personal messages. It can be a blessing not too disguised because they're very tedious. Now, what was that thread I was going to start? Can anybody remember?

i can whip it up fix you up straight away. coming at the front door leaving out the back door, whip it, flip it

What are you gay?

Your block list should get a spring cleaning every year. Sometimes you block someone only to find out 6 months later, "Oh wow, he's a real human being. I may have misinterpreted his statement". surprise.png

That's right, previously you used to at least know you were blocked. Now it's ridiculous, almost as if chess.com is intentionally trying to frustrate people.

---   I still very much agree with the OP on this point. I mean how goofy is it to let you waste time in trying to write a reply in a thread and then when you are done tell you that you are blocked. This makes no sense at all !

This is a flaw that I have noticed with the new V3. In the old V2 system I was told right away if I was blocked and therefore I would leave the thread quickly. However in V3 one is not informed about being blocked until AFTER writing a post, I'm with the OP on this one.

---   And again, same point !

AlCzervik

yes, baddy, but staff does not appear to want any discussion of issues in the open. they seem to prefer singular responses that we are told go directly to staff.

basically, any issues members here have will not get much of a response in site feedback or h & s topics.

it appears any issues to be dealt with will be from within. and staff does not want it broadcasted.

Maybe the thing to do in V3 is to start every post with a two-word, preliminary "block check" post. If that goes through, then you edit the post to what you originally wanted it to be.

Ahahahahaha,   A 2 word block check post then edit.  Now there's somebody who's thinking on their feet. wink.png     NO!angry.png  We want a 3-page thesis.evil.png  I can see the threads now;  "THE FEAR OF POSTING".  LOL.                                                                                                                                                                                      null

i think it's an improvement. it feels like you're not really blocked because the chat box is still there, so you can just ignore the thread and start a new thread to flip the opee off.

Okay I have submitted it to the "Make a suggestion" link also. But chess.com is supposed to check here as well, I hate having to report the same thing twice and for years.
