Well, I'm very confused with this thing. (I have a second, but I think I found that out already)

Peoples' accounts get closed, then reopened, then closed, and reopened once more, and it happens all the time. It gets really annoying. (sometimes)

But that's not the thing that I'm baffled by.

There are people who haven't been online ever since July, or even earlier, yet their accounts aren't closed. (There are account closures due to inactivity). And there are people who were online 2 days ago and their accounts are closed (as I said, due to inactivity).

WHY?

I think account closures due to inactivity don't have to do with the length of time that you were inactive. Basically an account closed due to inactivity is closed by the user himself, rather than banned by the staff.

I see.

I also have something else to ask...

MGleason

@macer75 is correct.  An account closed as inactive is closed by the member.  Staff do not close accounts for a lack of activity, because sometimes someone who goes away for a few years may come back later.
