Rule Doubt For OTB Tournaments(FIDE)

ShaoniHiya

suppose I'm white and I make a move. I forgot to press the clock after moving and my time is running. My opponent made a move. Can i claim an illegal/warning for opponent?

I think you cant claim illeagao move. the arbiter gives warning. if the opponent makes such thing again he gets illegal move!

ShaoniHiya

and warning?

MainframeSupertasker

Nope, your opponent will remain safe. Just remember to press the clock within a seconds to follow the etiquette.

You should contact the Indian Chess Federation; they should be able to assign you a FIDE identification number,

And you have to play FIDE rated tourneys.

In order to get a FIDE rating in india you have to play an official FIDE rated tournament. These can be found here: http://aicf.in/all-events/

There are other criterias too. Eg- You have to face a certain no. of rated opponents out of a certain number of rounds. You performance rating has to be such that you can get a 1000+ FIDE rating. An 1100+ performance rating against sufficient no. of rated opponents usually guarantees a FIDE rating

I'm thinking post #2 hasn't played any tournaments. Ur opponent can make a move in the situation u described. Just because u forget to stop ur clock doesn't mean anything to ur opponent. If that were the case u could deliberately play annoying games with ur opponent just to keep them from moving.

ShaoniHiya

Hmmm, thanks!

How do you participate in the competition?

Look up the chess federation of ur country (google it) and visit their website or call them if they have a number listed. It's easy to play in otb rated tournaments and a lot of fun, ur gonna love it.
