What is the difference between Daily Tournaments and Live Tournaments?

I would have thought the FAQ would have the answer to this very basic question but nope.  And what's even more confusing is the Daily Tournaments don't seem to be Daily Tournaments?

dai·ly  adjective

done, produced, or occurring every day or every weekday.
"a daily newspaper"

So for example when I look at daily tournaments right now the first one that's listed is "Continental Chess Adventure #1 - South American Open"  That doesn't sound daily to me?  Or the next one "Super Slow Tournament #2 14 days"  A daily that lasts 14 days?  So I'm a little confused as to what exactly daily tournaments are and what's the difference between them and live tournaments?

Live tournaments are touranments wich are played live by both players(both players are playing at the same time) and typically last about a hour. you can find them on chess.com live.

Daily tournaments are tournaments where you get several days to make one move.

Daily touranemtns also last longer

Thanks very much for the feedback. Is there any way I can search for upcoming swiss rapid tournaments?

If I go to https://www.chess.com/tournament/upcoming/swiss and I enter the word "rapid" into the search box and press enter it takes me to another page where there are a list of tournaments that are already over.

The easiest way it to go to live chess and under the play button there is a tournaments button, Press that and you can see the upcoming tournaments. You can also search for rapid in the search box and it works

So would this be the right interface?

But there are no shown results for rapid. I think it might be because it only looks ahead an hour or so. How can I look ahead further than an hour for rapid swiss tournaments? Even when I go to the schedule tab it stops at about an hour ahead.

Hmmm... Thats odd. For me it shows rapid tournaments. And yes unfortunately you can only look for tournaments 1 hour ahead. But tournaments run at the same time daily im pretty sure, so if you check the previous tournaments you can see when they happen some other day and plan for that time.

@barbashka makes a good point:

The official chess.com Swiss tournaments are usually scheduled for once every four hours. So if you know the past tournament times, you can predict the future times.

You can click on the "Completed Live Tournaments" link on the website and search for a time control.

Play - Tournaments - Completed Live Tournaments

For example: search for "15|10 Rapid"

https://www.chess.com/tournament/live/search?keyword=15%7C10+Rapid

In chess,"Daily" does not mean "occurring every day" but instead a specific time control in which both players have a number of days per move, meaning that after every move, the timer resets. A Daily tournament is simply a tournament of Daily games, and otherwise it's the same as a Live tournament (as far as I am aware, please correct me if I am wrong.).
