Why do I keep getting moved to a different tournament?

NubbyChessking

I usually play blitz or rapid swiss tournaments under 1199. For some reason I always get put into another tournament and get the message saying "you have been moved to another tournament" or something. I don't know why and it seems like it's only me. When I get moved they already began and it's impossible for me to win and it's getting annoying. (For rapid I didn't even break 1000 and for blitz i'm like 600 so being over the limit is impossible)

They do that when there aren't enough players.

It wouldn't be much of a tournament if it was just you.

there was around 14 players, and around 5-7 rounds. Plus, it seems to be only me that got moved.

Yes, you were the only entrant under 1200.

That's why

they couldn't have a separate under 1200 tournament.

A lot of people think it's a good thing to play higher rated players. You will probably get better faster, if you can take it.

Oh thanks

Don’t feel too bad about it Nubby. I prefer taking on folks who are at least slightly higher rated than me. It provides a good challenge and if you can beat them it gives more rating points and if you lose, you actually won’t lose that many, because your opponent is considered more likely to win. Sort of a win win....
