Kudos to Menomow for putting this together!
Rules, Schedule & Pairings - Season 2016 Division 3
The Alabama v. Georgia link is incorrect. In the actual match, AL is leading GA 6-3, but it's a nine player match, therefore it's very much in limbo.
Thank you RFBoland, it is corrected. If anyone finds any other issues please post so it can be fixed!
A person can only PLAY for one team per season in the USTCL. For example, I'm still a member of South Dakota Chess, but I PLAY for Alabama. Even though SD Chess is in Division 2, and AL Chess is in Division 3, I can only play for one of the teams.
Thank you Mike! I just updated for the first time in a week, but only one more match was decided. Quite a few of the remaining matches are close to clinched!
Division 3 Teams:
I have been named the successor for Dietmar and all of the hard work that he has done managing Division 3. His commitment in a volunteer position to the success of this division and the league as a whole has earned him a legacy that will not be forgotten as the league moves forward. Thank you Dietmar!
As we soon approach the start of the 2016-2017 Season I need each team to please post the names of two active administrators. (If your team only has one active administrator AND your team did not have any forfeits last season, then one name is okay). If your team is planning on playing this season please post your list as soon as possible so I can get a team count and start putting together the matchups. One team from Division 3 last season does still need to be promoted, and hopefully that can be sorted out soon.
Any questions or concerns, please let me know. One of my focuses for Division 3 is going to be getting matches started on time and limiting match forfeits, which is why I need a contact list of active administrators. I would like this season to go more smoothly than I see last season did as I read back through these posts.
A new Division 3 thread for the new season will also be added soon. I'm looking forward to some great chess!
- Menamow.
RFBoland for Alabama Chess. Redsoxpawn can serve as the backup as he is also a SuperAdmin for the group.
Kansas has clinced the win versus Alabama, and it looks like Indiana is going to beat Mississippi (at least a draw), so I've got members from my team asking how the standings are going to play out now. Is it possible to get another update on the standings? Thanks in advance for your efforts!
Thank you for letting me know those matches were wrapping up. So New Hampshire clinched first place awhile ago. Utah is now 8-3-0. Indiana is 7-3-0 and has at least a tie with Mississippi. Alabama will finish at 7-3-1, which will be either even with Indiana for third place or will be fourth place if Indiana wins their last match.
One correction today to the Standings table. I see back on page 6 that Oklahoma was given a forfeit win in Round 11 where I had mistakenly marked both teams as having a loss. That moves Oklahoma up to a 5th place finish for last year.
We are almost ready for next season. We currently have 9 teams in D3. At least one will still move up to D2, and possibly a second if one of the smaller D3 teams wants to come down. That's the only holdup right now. Hopefully we can get this started shortly so that the upcoming season does not run over like this past one did. Stay tuned!
We are ready for the 2017 Season! New forum and your round 1 matchups will be up before the end of the day tomorrow.
