I’ve been playing chess casually for 40 years. 26 years ago I entered my first tournament the 1999 National High School Championship in Sioux Falls South Dakota. I didn’t play another tournament until March of 2025. I’ve competed in over 18 over the board tournaments this year alone, and over 20 USCF rated Online Tournaments too.

After 26 years away from tournaments I have fully been hit with the bug. I play multiple times a day, I started the First City Chess Club because the nearest club to me is a 45 minute drive. I also started a website to document my chess growth Chess Virtuosity.

Chess Virtuosity is a blog where I will be updating my over the board games, my review of them, and begin writing more about Chess. I wrote a piece about why you should hire a coach here.

I was recently certified as a Club Director under USCF, and will begin hosting local tournaments in the near future.

I do a lot to improve my chess, I have a decent sized library of books, I drill myself on openings, I paid for both Chessable, and Chessly, and recently I hired a coach (ThemanfromEngland2080)to help me improve my game. The hard work and study is beginning to pay off.
