I was born in England in 1972 and later played chess for my school team (Haughton Comprehensive School, Darlington) in 1984 playing in some open competitions in my area between 1984 and 1986. I have also played for few local clubs (Darlington RA Club) but have never really looked at my ELO or had it measured. However, it is only recently that I have started looking at tactics, openings, endgames and players from the past.

My favourite player from the past is Tal and one day I would like to be a fraction of the player he was. I try to emulate him in my attacking approach however, I am far far away from understanding the game at that level.

I suffer from time to time with chess blindness and I sometimes drink and play so I apologise if I suddenly make a blunder. I want to be good but I am very much work in progress,
