My 5th grade teacher introduced me to chess, and would give us play money when we he saw us make progress. This play money could be used to buy pencils, erasers, even extra recess time. Needless to say with incentives like this I was hooked. I've been playing on and off ever since, but never really seriously. When I found chess.com about a year ago, I decided to start playing with more intensity. I picked up a few books on chess to start learning the names of the moves I was already doing, and to give more structure to the game. As these books and this website have taught me, there is A LOT to learn.
