Ziryab introduced chess to Europe in the ninth century. I'm a universal player with a strong sense of history. I particularly appreciate lessons from the games of Anderssen, Charousek, McDonnell, Kramnik, Karpov, Gligoric, Morphy, Greco, Aronian.

I have been coaching young chess players and a few adults since 1999. Some of my students have won state championships. Some have grown past me in their skill. Contact me through private messaging here, or use the contact form on my Chess Skills blog. http://chessskill.blogspot.com/

I'm a scholastic tournament organizer who put together the largest state event in 2009. I was the tournament director when we repeated the event in 2015. http://www.spokanechess2015.org
