Been playing chess off and on for many years, but took it up in earnest several years ago with the advent of online play. I am not a serious student of the game, but I am an admirer of those who are. I play for the pure enjoyment of the game. I often blunder but try not to make the same mistakes twice!
Favorite chess quote: "Whosoever sees no other aim in the game than that of giving checkmate to one's opponent, will never become a good chessplayer." Max Euwe.
Another good quote that has nothing to do with chess, or does it? "He who defends everything, defends nothing." Frederick the Great.
