'Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.'    -Jeremiah  33:3

'I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.'    -Ecclesiastes  9:11

Family: father of two ...Work: I build Subaru automobiles ...Play: I play World of Warcraft, Magic the Gathering, Mah Jongg and numerous other card and board games. I just started playing Disc Golf in 2008 ...Music: I love Paul Oakenfold, Deadmau5, and Bebel Gilberto  ...Books: I like historical oddities taking place in the early 20th/late 19th century, like "Against the Day" by Thomas Pynchon, Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead", and "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" by Seth Grahame-Smith.  Also like H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, H.P. Lovecraft, etc... I'm also a huge fan of the Harry Potter series and Terry Moore's Strangers In Paradise.  ...Chess Books: "Chess Tactics for Champions" by Susan Polgar, and "Traps and Zaps" by Bruce Pandolfini. I like quick attacks and openings that lead to quick mates. When I was younger, people would ask me if I had a rating, and I would say I was "1500", without giving it much thought.  Now that I am fanatical about Chess again, I'm realizing how much I don't know, and that elusive number has become a new goal for me. I play Shogi (Japanese Chess), which is a blast and not nearly as hard to learn as it looks. I also like Navia Dratp, which in my opinion is the best Chess variant ever created. I hope Bandai resurrects Navia Dratp one day...
