We congratulate Evgeni Miller for his performance throughout the tournament. Not only did he play well... he also did the right thing when a player attempted to set up a match in one of his brackets. Honestly, this paid off in the end. It is a pleasure for me and I believe for others on calling him our first ever 4PC World Solo Champion.

The following are a few questions Evgeni was so kind to answer:

First of all congratulations on becoming the First ever 4PC Solo World Champion. What is your name and where are you from?

Hi, Thanks!

My name is Evgeni Miller, and I currently reside in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Tell us a bit more about yourself.

I'm 33; started playing chess when I was 4 or 5. I'm the former Canadian grade 11 champion (2002). I also play trivia games (something like this, except without all the fancy TV stuff - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWQ5AROEQ7I, though I did make it to Russian TV this year).

Which was the most dificult moment for you in this tournament?

The most difficult moment - the brain freeze at the end of game 6, when I first threw away an easy win, and then resigned too early and accidentally gave a win to a player that wasn't supposed to. Glad it didn't matter in the end.

Which was your favorite moment for you in the tournament?

Favourite moment - the last game of my semi-final, where I beat Hest in an endgame I had no business winning.

As the games are anonymous, were you able to determine who was who during the games?

I was able to determine who was who in most games. Close to 100% accuracy during the preliminary rounds, it was slightly more complicated in the final.

What attracted you to 4 Player Chess?

I believe I first found out about it from a Twitch stream with [I think] Danny Rensch last August, and I thought it looked like fun, so I decided to try it out.

What are your suggestions/strategies for the new players to the 4PC community?

For new players - YouTube has tonnes of great 4PC stuff. I watched a lot of Dubioussskills videos (this guy) when I started out, it really helped me with the basics.

Any other words you would like to say to the 4PC Community?

I'd like to thank everyone for the congratulations, and am looking forward to the next championship.
