"Chess is life"

        - Bobby Fischer

James Robert Fischer was born in 1943 on the ninth of March at the Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago. His father is Paul Nemenyi and his mother is Regina Wender Fischer. Regina raised Bobby and Bobby's sister, Joan. Fischer gained his education in the Erasmus Hall High School.

When Boby was 6 years old, he learnt to play chess with Joan and Regina. But as Joan and Regina got too bored of playing, Bobby had to spend most of his time playing by his own. Then, one day, Bobby found a chess book! He dedicated a lot of his time in deeply studying that book. Then, when Regina realised about Bobby's interest to the game, she sent out a request if there are any other kids of the same age to play with him. Then, Max Parvey held an exhibition and invited Bobby to play in the exhibition. He scored very well and therefore got the oppurtunity to play with a Scotch Master, though he lost the game, he learnt a lot from the exhibition.

Eventually, Carmine Nigro invited him to his chess club and offered to teach Bobby.

"Mr. Nigro might not be the best player in the world, but he is a very good teacher, nevertheless. His coaching was a very important factor in my journey through chess."
