Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has asked Bessel Kok to reorganize professional chess,?Ǭ†according to the Dutch daily?Ǭ†newspaper Trouw. "Unbelievable," reacted Kok.

Ilyumzhinov's offer to Kok means he now embraces an important part of Kok's election program, which he fought against in June in Turin. He even wants Kok to execute it.

Last week Kok was in Kiev, where Ilyumzhinov called him. The controversiale leader of Kalmykia flew to Kiev in his private jet, where he had a meeting with Kok last Friday.?Ǭ†

"I told him my conditions after which he shook my hand and said that he will give full support to the proposal. We'll see. It's unbelievable, but everything is bizar within FIDE. In 2002 we had an agreement about this, and nothing happened.?Ǭ†Kirsan told me his astrologer had whispered him the?Ǭ†plan. Perhaps that was what brought him to this", Kok ironically commented.
