The word 'indefatigable' could have been invented to describe the great Viktor Korchnoi, who still terrorises his chess opponents at the age of 81.

Korchnoi's latest tournament was the 'CEG (Geneva Chess Club) versus Legends' chess tournament which took place from 4-10 August in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Legends comprised of Ulf Andersson, Vlastimil Hort, Zoltan Ribli, Kevin Spraggett and Viktor Korchnoi himself.  They played a double Scheveningen tournament with five CEG players Alexandre Domont, Bastien Dubessay, Richard Gerber, Lars Rindlisbacher and Alexandre Vuilleumier.

The Legends won the team contest convincingly by a score of 33-17 with Korchnoi, Spraggett and Ribli all scoring 7/10, and Korchnoi took the individual prize on superior tie-breaks. Kevin Spraggett was second and Zoltan Ribli third.
