Commonwealth Chess Championships
The 2012 Commonwealth Chess Championships took place in Chennai, India from 22 November - 1 December.
The competition was an 11-round Swiss with 150 players taking part. Sergey Tiviakov and Lalith Babu both finished on a score of 9½ points, with Tiviakov having the better tie-breaks.
Tiviakov received the Commonwealth International Open title and Lalith Babu finishes as the 2012 Commonwealth Champion.
The gold medal in the women's section went to Sowmya Swaminathan with a score of 7½ points.
