I've always like checkers. However, checkers started becoming too boring and simple for my liking. When I found Chess.com, I played a few games offline without an account, and lost basically every one of them. I knew a few basics of chess from before like the queen and the knight, but that was basically it. I had absolute zero opening move ideas, no tactics, and was definitely a noob starting out. So, I made an account, with the username of "I-always-get-checkmated", because it seemed fitting. (and still is!)

Now that I'm 1000 elo+ from 100 elo within 10 months, I've learned quite a lot. But that doesn't mean I'm not prone to getting royal forked, queen skewed because of the king, queen pinned by a bishop, or just a brutal back-rank checkmate I never saw coming. Failure is part of learning, so when I lose, it's ok. You win some, you draw some, and you lose/resign some. That's how chess goes.

I was peak 2859 in Puzzles. Until some changes were made to the site and I lost over 1000 elo.

Bullet (I only play 1 minute): Fast and simple. This is my favorite variant. Not only is it really fun to pre-move a lot, (and mostly hang pieces if you’re not careful) it’s also fun to take other’s pieces due to low time and panic. If you lose a bunch of games, you’re only 2 minutes away (depends on how much time both of you take to play) to snap your losing streak and win another game. (unless you keep losing…)
Blitz (I only play 3 minute): It’s fun, you don’t have to rush anything. This is my 2nd favorite variant. The opponents’ skills are usually a lot harder due to having a bunch of time to calculate a brilliant move, but I still really like it. The only problem is that this is the variant where most people abandon games. I’ve had games where opponents waste 2 minutes just to abandon with 0.005 left in the game. Take this game against @Pezhman18181 for example. He blundered his queen, and then waited 2:07 minutes just to run out of time. Imo, if you’re gonna do that, just abandon before. Daily: I love it when I can use the “Analysis” on the side so I don’t stalemate my opponent. This is my 3rd favorite variant. However, if I have an amazing sequence in mind and the person takes over 3 days to play, (Vacation time) I forget my sequence. (Maybe it’s because I don’t write it all down in Notes…)
Rapid: (I only play 10 minute) This variant is what I call “the cheater variant”, because as I was climbing the elo levels I got over 15+ messages from Chess.com staff upping my elo due to me losing to someone cheating. This is my LEAST favorite variant BY FAR. You probably are wondering “Why is it you’re least favorite variant?” and it’s because I ABSOLUTELY hate it when my opponents take 9.5 minutes to play and end up winning, leaving the game over 15 MINUTES long just for me to lose, and I could be doing something better with my life than waiting all that time just to lose. And yeah, some people play over 30+ minute games, and if you are reading this, and do that, good for you! But I’m just not one of those people. At all.

I never abandon games, If I'm losing terribly or have to leave, I'll resign, and not leave the other person aimlessly waiting. It's the proper thing to do.

I report people who stall purposely and then abandon, so keep that in mind if you are reading this and are about to play me in a game. My main goal was to get to 1000 elo in all 4 of the major variants (Daily, blitz, bullet, rapid) and I have done it, 1000 in all of them. Or at least I did do all of them, however Daily isn’t going so well anymore.

It took me 193 days to reach that starting out not knowing nearly anything about chess. 3,535 games in 193 days is pretty insane, and I didn’t spend all day grinding, just a few games here and there. I never cheated, and I never will cheat. I can’t stand playing cocky people who pre-move everything when I am losing just to promote 3 queens for checkmate. And I usually don’t rematch someone if they lose, I’ve had too many people having revenge to beat me. (I’m talking about random people that I play in blitz, not my friends)
