In the mid-1970s, I was one of Denmark's best juniors in chess in my age group. I won the Copenhagen Championship in School Chess three times and won over GM Bent Larsen (in simultaneous) as 15 years old. After high school, I was called as a soldier for the Danish infantry where I was serving and made a career for 15 years. Among other things, many years as a platoon leader for some of Denmark's most professional soldiers. After serving in the army, I became self-employed for 18 years as a business consultant in management. In addition, I have worked for the Danish Sports Association for a number of years. In addition to my work, I have been very involved in the Danish FA, where I was a member of the board for many years and chairman for all youth football in Denmark. In 2016 I was sadly hit by a blood clot in the heart and was close to die, but survived, but the heart had unfortunately suffered damage. This meant that I could not be so active anymore, and therefore I started playing chess again in 2018 at chess.com!
