We're getting toward 50 players. Any ideas on how I can engage more players in the under 1600 tourney?
The link to this opening in the database.
Normal Variation is how it was named in the opening database.
I did find a Paulsen Attack in the Advance Variation of the French.
I think it's called the Paulsen variation after 3. Nc3 ;-)
Tournament inspired by the video by Valeri Lilov found at:
Fast fwd 5 min to get to the position we're starting from. 3. ...Nf6 is explained first.
Then at 10:30 3. ...Bb4 is explained.
Nothing fancy shmancy. Just a forum for practising the French Defence. After 3. Nc3 black can go with the Classical 3. ...Nf6; the Winawer 3. ...Bb4; and the Rubinstein 3. ...dxe4 or anything else you want to try. Ok people let's give it heaps, find out what tactics are lurking here, go after each other's kings, or settle into a drawn out strategic struggle - whatever spins your wheels.
