I got my Grandmaster title at 19 and International Master at 15. I've been a professional coach for 6 years and a professional player for almost 16 years with many national and international accolades.

We’ll work together on all parts of your chess growth. Build your opening repertoire from scratch, find your weaknesses and help you fix them, whether it's your tactical awareness, positional understanding, endgames, or calculation and visualization.

Strong points and favorite thing about chess

I would say my best skill in teaching is flexibility and adjusting to the student's needs and ambitions, especially while preparing their repertoire and which parts of the game we need to prioritize.
I have a very big opening library, so don’t think I’ll just make you play what I’m good at, instead we’ll work on any opening you want that is suitable for your style of play.
My personal favorite phase of the game are middlegames and calculation, but I believe anyone who wants to improve in chess needs to improve in all parts of the game and every player has different personalities and different strong points/weaknesses.

Playing Experiences

Won several Continental medals across 12 years: 2023 African Individuals and several times African and Arab Junior and Youth champion (2011-12-13-14-16-17-18-19). And second place at the 2024 Arab Championship.
Won big open tournaments such as 2023 Sharjah Challengers, 2024 Kuwait International Open and 2019 GM norm Orbis tournament in Serbia.
Been a member of the First National team at 16 in the 2016 Olympiad in Baku and won the B category in the 2018 Batumi Olympiad.
Best Classical wins include GMs Vidit Gujrathi, Naiditsch ,Abhimanu Mishra, Karthik Venkataraman, Nisipeanu, Iturrizaga .
Best Classical draws: Aravindh, Bu Xiangzhi, Andreikin, Cheparinov, Salem, Akopian.

Coaching Experience:

Worked as a coach for the Egyptian National Team, winning multiple medals in African and Arab Youth/Juniors tournaments.

I've been coaching for many years with a wide range of students of various strengths, ages, and backgrounds. some of my best students include:

- IM Jan Karsten (2385 Fide): One of my first students, 2026 South African Champion, 2022 African Juniors Champion, 8th at the 2023 U16 World Youth. Almost 600 points increase since the start of our training (from 1800 to almost 2385)
- IM David George (2350 Fide): 3rd at Arab Juniors at just 13 years old, 2nd at 2025 African Juniors. 157 rating points increase in the span of 10 months (from 2200 to 2357)
- IM Hamed Wafa (2379 Fide): Worked with him in multiple tournaments, 2025 African Juniors Champion, 6th place in 2023 U16 World Youth
- FM Marko Fadi (2324 Fide Peak rating): Mainly worked with him on opening repertoire. Most notable result finishing 3rd at 2023 World Amateurs U2300.

How I coach:

Before we work, I'll ask you to send your games to understand your level and chess personality (preferably Classical/ long time games), discuss what are your ambitions and short/long term goals and work together to achieve them.

A strong belief I have is that a big part of a student's success depends on the student him/herself, obviously the role and guidance of a coach is important, but the commitment of the student and work between the sessions is the key part of the student's growth.

I always send homework to solve until the next session and highly encourage working on calculations and tactics in general. Also, during tournaments, we always discuss tournament strategy, surprise preps, etc.

Hourly rate: 35$/hr and 60$/2hrs
