Can someone explain why you wouldn't have 7. Qxa1?

     Because that would be stalemate

    Someone said that already.

Thanks, I didn't see that before I posted, but I did notice that pretty quickly after reading the following posts

Why not h2 with the FIRST move? Looks to accomplish the same end only quicker.

People are so stupid. 4/5 person say that this puzzle doesnt work and is stupid and that the moves make no sense. none of them really analyze or read the posts below before making an opinion on the puzzle. Thats pathetic, and it discourages me. They don't understand that ALL THE DAILY PUZZLES work, except the ones bugged.

trash puzzle black king would have taken pawn even ignoring that once white had queen he should have simply moved his king from 8th file

I'm having trouble deciding if you're really bad or you're just joking.  The whole point of black not taking the pawn on b6 is to prevent white from playing Qxa1 when both players promote.

Also if white moves king from 8th file right after promoting black plays Qxh8.

That would practically result to an easy ending for the white. After Kxb6, white would answer h4 all the way to queening.  Black's a6 pawn can reach a1 but will be simply eaten by white's queen.
