My Chess Life
Micah is a soon to be professional chess player who first started chess at eight years of age. Initially he did not have much interest in him but he played the game anyway because his grandfather was teaching him. He was also too engrossed in astronomy which was another contributing factor. 7 years later Chess was trending on social media, and Micah who is now 15 years old has decided to pick up the chessboard, and this is where his talent truly shines. In the span of 1 month Micah has gained 90 rating points on chess.com since starting on January 11 2023. 5 months later Micah has achieved 500 elo rating on chess.com before experiencing a plateau of rating. Micah spent the entire summer of 2023 to focus & study on chess. In September-October Micah witnessed a huge bump in his rating after getting a chess coach. His rating increased from 560 to 882 and then in November he saw his rating skyrocket to 900. Micah is now 16 (his birthday is in July) and continues to study and play chess to become a professional chess player & grandmaster. He will participate in his first chess tournament in March - April 2024.
