The in-person club continues to grow with people showing up from Greeneville and Knoxville today as well as one recently relocated from the West Coast. We continue to meet at Mulligan's Gaming Pub on Main St. in Johnson City every Sunday at 2 PM. Stop in for some games, in a very game-friendly setting with good Irish fare, libations and soft drinks available. It's a great atmosphere for a few games and it is family-friendly. Players of all levels are welcome.

Against the odds, our fearless Johnson City Chess Club representatives fought their way to a 6-6 tie against the big guns of Mountain Empire Chess Association (Kingsport) today. Kudos to our Club and special thanks to the folks who came down from Mountain Empire to play with us today at Mulligan's. We looks forward to getting together again in the future with the Kingsport crowd, possibly in their neck of the woods. My hope is that we can put together a larger event like a two day round robin.
A quick reminder: tomorrow, Saturday 3/11, is our match against Mountain Empire Chess Association (Kingsport) at Mulligan's beginning at 2 PM. If you can show up earlier, that will help with coordination. Also, regarding our regular meeting on Sunday 3/12, please remember to set your clocks forward on Saturday night-Sunday AM for Daylight Savings Time.
