Friday, Sept. 26 --  OldSavage has brought caveman chess to its highest level yet in taking first in our Seniors' Invitational (over-1400) event.  agosoxo put up a valiant battle against the winner, but didn't shed quite enough blood in finishing second. sjakklek took 3rd.  Congrats and thanks to all 15 gladiators! (See previous item for under-1400 results).

Oldguy418 has emerged the winner of the Seniors' Under-1400 Invitational, edging out Kamaaina for the top spot.  JJMar took third.  Congratulations to our winner and to everyone who took part! 

somebody made an error in that lock and dr. darth has has written what seems to me to be a pretty good prescription that will likely sufficiently reduce the probability of such events in the future. let us give his medicine time to work before taking further action. peace and goodwill to all. ps: does anyone here use the pirc defense? is it any good?

Dave, it won't help for this match, but in my other groups I have the admin put their initials at the end of the match title, that way I can keep track of who created the match and who is the admin to lock the match. It really helps as a lot of times I get messages from the other team asking to lock, then I simply forward it to the appropriate admin. I found it to help in keeping track.
