If the archer's range was limited to a 3 square maximum that might help.
Archer's play better on a 10x8 or 10x10 board (or larger).

Lo atractivo de el movimiento del arquero es que pueda capturar pieza del oponente a larga distancia, si se limita a 3 casillas pierde potencia y bajo mi humilde opinión añadiría una dificultad a la hora de jugar .
