My specialties: Fischer Random Chess (Chess 960) and traps!!

I evaluate moves based on PERIL (Preemptive Evaluation of Risk, Imperilment and Loss) - a new chess eval characteristic I devised a few years ago, which is based on how much the position deteriorates, if the opponent fails to find the best response. So a move that may not technically be the best move, or even one of the best moves, in a particular position, may well be the most dangerous if not countered correctly.

This new twist on move evaluation, finding the most dangerous move, has served me well, and is one of the reasons I set so many traps, which are difficult to negotiate your way through all of them without slipping on the ice! 😮

Please be patient with my response time, evaluating PERIL for several different candidate moves requires pretty deep thought (it can kind of overwhelm your brain after a while) and can take an hour or more to assess a complex position, especially when you are old! 😊 Also, if you decide to set these types of traps, be careful and triple-check your mental calculations, it is easy to accidentally trap yourself! 😱

The inspiration for PERIL was some traps popularized by NM Nelson Lopez of the Chess Vibes YouTube channel (highly recommended), such as the famous Fishing Pole trap.
