can someone explain this to me?

Sure. White needs to keep black's pawn from promoting, thus the capture with the rook. Once black's knight captures the rook, white's knight moves to C2, and while on C2, it guards the two escape squares for the black knight on the f file, while the white king already guards the two escape squares on the 4th rank. Black can only move the king because if the black's knight moves to any of its available squares, it will be captured. White, with only a little difficulty, will be able to advance the h file pawn to promote it (probably to a queen) to win the game.

This is a beautiful, coherent, didactic explanation, step by step, and not the arrogant "easy" that come up at any moment or some rudeness from those who did not understand the puzzle and prefer to disqualify the solution presented.
