BunniesAndRockClimbing

ABOUT ME:

Hey there, I'm a Christian from [CITY], [STATE] who likes rock climbing, bunnies, and music. And a whole lot of other things. I am between the ages of 3 and 30, and I like writing worship songs. My favorite worship artists are Phil Wickham, Cory Asbury, and Josh Baldwin.

SOME AMAZING SONG LYRICS (and no this isn't an end-of-bio thing, there's more cool stuff after this):

Worthy of My Song by Phil Wickham

I'm gonna sing
Till my heart starts changing
Oh I'm gonna worship
Till I mean every word

'Cause the way I feel
And the fear I'm facing
Doesn't change who You are
Or what You deserve

I give You my worship
You still deserve it
You're worthy
You're worthy
You're worthy of my song

I pour out Your praises
In blessing and breaking
You're worthy
You're worthy
You're worthy of my song
Yes You are
Yes You are Jesus
You're worthy

I'm gonna live
Like my King is risen
Gonna preach to my soul
That You've already won

And even though I can't see it
I'm gonna keep believing
That every promise You made
Is as good as done

I give You my worship
You still deserve it
You're worthy
You're worthy
You're worthy of my song

I pour out Your praises
In blessing and breaking
You're worthy
You're worthy
Jesus You're worthy of my song
You're worthy
You're worthy
Jesus You're worthy of my song
You're worthy
Oh You're worthy

When I sat by that hospital bed
You were worthy
When she could barely lift her head
You were worthy
And after all those tears were shed
You were worthy

I'll never stop singing Your praise
I'll never stop singing Your praise

And in the blessing and the pain
You are worthy
Whether you say yes or no or wait
You are worthy
Through it all I choose to say
You are worthy

I'll never stop singing Your praise
No I'll never stop singing Your praise

And when I finally see Your face
I'll cry worthy
And when You wipe these tears away
I'll cry worthy
Above every other name
You are worthy

I'll never stop singing Your praise
No I'll never stop singing Your praise
I'll never stop singing Your praise
I'll never stop singing Your praise

I give You my worship
Cause You still deserve it
You're worthy
You're worthy
Jesus You're worthy of my song

I pour out Your praises
In blessing and breaking
You're worthy
You're worthy
Jesus You're worthy of my song
You're worthy
You're worthy
Jesus You're worthy of my song
You're worthy
You're worthy
Forever You're worthy of my song
You're worthy
You're worthy
Jesus You're worthy of my song
You're worthy
Oh You're worthy

And when I finally see Your face
I'll cry worthy
And when You wipe these tears away
I'll cry worthy
Above every other name
You are worthy

I'll never stop singing Your praise
No I'll never stop singing Your praise
I'll never stop singing

I'll never stop singing Your praise
I'll never stop singing Your praise

You're worthy
You are worthy

Nothing More Than You by Cory Asbury

I need words, deeper than the ocean
And I need a voice, that's bigger than the sky
And I need a song, that's worthy of Your nail scars
To sing of the love, that took a chance on me

'Cause this is more than I could ask for and more than I could dream
The One who made the world somehow thinks the world of me
The highest King of Heaven chose to love a fool
I don't understand it, but I know I want nothing more than You

And I thought God, was further than horizons
And I thought grace, was just beyond my reach
But You said my life, was worthy of Your nail scars
So I'll sing like it was, 'cause You took a chance on me

Now this is more than I could ask for, more than I could dream
The One who made the world somehow thinks the world of me
The highest King of Heaven chose to love a fool
I don't understand it, but I know I want nothing more than You
Nothing more than You

When I was at my lowest, You still were on Your throne
And when I was still a long way off, You ran to bring me home
When I was prone to wander, You loved me anyway
When I was six feet under, You pulled me from the grave, yeah

Now this is more than I could ask for and more than I could dream
The One who made the world somehow thinks the world of me
The highest King of Heaven chose to love a fool
I don't understand it, but I know I want nothing more than You
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah

I want nothing more than You

SOME STUFF TO PUT ON YOUR PROFILE:

Rabbits have rights! Millions of rabbits are euthanized in animal shelters every year. Millions of parents buy their kids bunnies for Easter, only to take them to animal shelters weeks later to be euthanized. If you believe in rabbit rescue, put this on your profile.

Rock climbing is awesome! It is a great sport that quickly builds strength, courage, and character, and the rock climbing community is awesome. It has much emphasis on trying hard, and not giving up, no matter how hard it seems. If you like rock climbing, put this on your profile.

ROCK CLIMBING:

I can climb an indoor V4 (technically I've climbed a V5 but it was far overrated so I don't count it) and an indoor 5.11d (the 11d I climbed was one everyone agrees should be a 5.12 though). I haven't done much outdoor climbing yet.

SOME WRITING BY ME:

I am a Rock Climber

I am a rock climber. Not a tree climber or a mountain climber. A rock climber. It’s always in the back of my mind. Rock climbing, I mean. Even when doing other things that I like to do, whether it be crafting, reading, or playing my shiny black upright piano, it is always there. Is it a sport? Yes. Is it a hobby? Maybe. Is it an obsession? Probably. But it is more.

I remember that the first time I went rock climbing, I went in with an expectation that it would be easy. It definitely wasn’t. But I came back anyway. Again and again, I returned. I became a rock climber.

I play chess. When I lived down south, in California, I played in many different chess tournaments. I had a few top places, even a 1st, but I had some negative experiences too. Still, I kept playing. But since I moved to scenic Idaho, there have been very few chess tournaments. I still play a lot, and I still take weekly lessons from my amazing genius chess coach, but with less and less tournament opportunity, I don't get to play competively much, so it's less of a sport now.

I have run through lots of sports. I tried soccer, but my program only lasted through first grade. I did gymnastics for six years, but I was never very good, and I quit when my brother did. I tried karate, wondering if that was finally it, but since my move away from the dojo, I sort of fell out of it. I almost gave up and passed myself off as a non-athlete, until I fell in love with climbing. I am a rock climber.

You might wonder if I'll ever move away from climbing as I did with all my other sports period after all, I have ambitions in Ninja Warrior, and I was lately on a winning soccer team. But though I play soccer, I am not a soccer player. I am not a Ninja Warrior. I am a rock climber. This isn't just another phase to be given up like all the others. How could I leave? How could I let go of the friends, the community, the sport I love?

For that’s part of what climbing is. It's more than a hobby or pastime. It's a community of friends, different, with different backgrounds and personalities, but all united in the sport of rock climbing. A community of individuals. Individual climbers.

Because though rock climbing is a community sport, it's not a team sport. It's an individual sport. Each climber, with the help of others, must push themselves beyond their furthest limits of strength and determination, and no matter what, keep trying. Keep climbing. That's what it is to be a rock climber.

And lastly, rock climbing is an identity and a passion. I am many things. I am a Christian, that's my main identity. I am player of piano, guitar, and chess. I am a heavy reader (nerd) and I love to learn. But I am also something else come on something that you need to know to know me. I am not any old sport fanatic. I am a rock climber.

I can climb 5.11d. I am not bragging. I wholly admit that I am not especially strong or fit. But I’m an OK climber nonetheless. How? I will give the same answer as a climbing friend (and by far my superior) answered when I asked him a similar question. He answered, without hesitation, “It’s for the love of the sport.” And I wholeheartedly agree. You either climb with a passion, or you don't climb at all. I do love the sport, and all the hardships that come with it. The perpetual calluses, the blood, the pain, the almost constant aching and soreness, I accept and embrace it all. I'm most comfortable when I have a harness around my waist and climbing shoes on my feet. Because that's who I am now. I am a rock climber.
