Although I learnt the basic moves in my late teens, I only really started playing chess when I retired. It is a great game and now I am addicted. It is the first thing I do in the morning, with my early cup of tea, and the last thing I do at night with a glass of red wine. How well I do often depends on the beverage I am drinking!

I am interested in religions but not a believer in any particular doctrine.I am a passionate advocate of human rights , and politically engaged in organisations that support them. I am a member of Amnesty International, and support the Labour Party in Britain. . I am devastated that this country is about to leave the European Union. I love reading and my favourite pastime is sharing food and discussion with friends.
